Ctrack launches security device for lone workers

Postal technology solutions provider Ctrack has launched a lone worker tracking and mobile panic alarm solution designed to provide added security and emergency support for vulnerable lone workers. Ctrack ICE is a device that provides real-time and historical location data to monitor the whereabouts and safety of mobile employees, as well as direct access to 24/7 SOS assistance in case of an emergency or accident.

The slim, lightweight device can be worn as a pendant, clipped to a belt or carried in even the smallest of pockets.

ICE can also be used to make and receive phone calls with up to 20 remotely programmable numbers including four speed dial buttons for key contacts. It can also receive incoming SMS messages.

Companies can access precise details regarding the location of employees in the field from the office or remotely via the Internet and alerts can be set up should a device leave predetermined safe zones and areas.

The SOS assistance is available via a 24/7 support centre where advice and help can be provided through a two-way communication channel as well as immediate contact with the emergency services.

Tom O’Connor, managing director of Ctrack in the UK, said: “Ctrack ICE is an easy to use, hand held tracking device that enables companies to better protect mobile employees across all lone worker, security or workforce management environments.

“Increasingly, businesses are under pressure to maximise the resource and cost efficiencies of their operation, whilst tackling issues surrounding security, safety and duty of care. This personal tracking and mobile panic alarm device is the latest introduction to our suite of vehicle tracking, navigational and real-time location tools that provide greater visibility and control over mobile resources and workforce.”
