Lorton to offer monthly payment plans for address clean-ups

Address data management specialists Lorton Data is set to offer a new monthly pricing system for its direct mail services from April. The company based in the US state of Minnesota will offer month-to-month subscriptions to its A-Qua Mailer suit of services for commercial mailers, which include CASS Certified ZIP + 4 coding, USPS NCOA Link processing, PAVE Certified Presort and duplicate elimination.

The A-Qua Mailer services include postal address correction and duplicate elimination facilities to help mailers clean up their address databases to reduce undelivered mail.

The system went “cloud-based” last January, meaning that mailers can access all services via the A-Qua Mailer website, rather than requiring installation and regular updates of specialist software on each computer.

The company’s president Ray Davey told Post&Parcel last week that the new monthly subscription system was the next step in making the service easier for mailers to use.

He said mailers no longer need to subscribe for an entire year to use it, keeping their costs down, while making budgeting easier.

“This makes it easy for mailers to claim the discounts from the US Postal Service for address quality – and they don’t need any software to use the service,” Davey explained.

The new subscriptions have different options for direct mailers and mail processing customers – an End User Unlimited Processing option is priced at $199 per month, while the Commercial User Unlimited Processing is $398 per month.

The company also offers pay-as-you-go options for customers who only periodically require data clean-up services.

Davey said the system had been set up so that organizations that may not be frequent or regular direct mailers could ensure their data was corrected in order to keep postal costs down.

It is designed to be user-friendly, with a wizard system to guide the mailer through the process of using the system to check database files.

“We designed the system so that even a church group that has 900 members and mails out a newsletter every month or so could use this to save money,” said Davey.
