DHL Predicts 15% Growth in Mexico

— Reforma: “Despite the recent terrorist attacks against the United States, delivery and cargo company DHL predicted growth in sales of 15 percent in Mexico during the next 18 months. The company’s sales should grow by 15 percent by the end of 2002, over sales of 1.8 billion pesos at the end of 2000, said Vice President of Sales Octavio Dominguez Linage. The effect of the crisis in the United States on consumers’ fears of flying will not affect the company’s cargo transport, he said. ‘We transport cargo, not people,’ he told Mexico City daily Reforma. Dominguez denied that the company was planning to reduce its operations. The company’s launch of its new service ‘Import Express’ will help it to capture more than 4 thousand potential clients in Mexico, he said.”
