Alibaba to open new Australian office in 2016
China’s online retail giant Alibaba plans to open a new office in Australia this year. According to an article published by ChinaDaily today (21 April) and referenced on Alibaba’s semi-official Alizila website, an Alibaba spokesperson said: “We aim to have dedicated country operations to work closely with Australian merchants and partners and it is our plan to establish an office in Australia in late 2016 to better help local brands and merchants to access to the Chinese consumer market.”
Maggie Zhou, is Alibaba’s recently-appointed Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand. Earlier this week, she represented Alibaba at the MOU signing ceremony with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), the New Zealand Government’s international business development agency.
