Postcomm consults on a long term licence for UK Speedmail

Postcomm has issued a consultation notice proposing the issue of a long term licence to Speedmail International Limited to provide bulk mail, consolidated mail and tracked business-to-business mail services.

Speedmail already holds an interim licence, and Postcomm is also consulting on a change to this which will mean that Speedmail will continue to be able to provide mailroom services. Postcomm has recently consulted on whether mailroom services should be totally exempt from licensing and will shortly be making a recommendation to the Secretary of State. If mailroom services are exempted, Speedmail’s interim licence will cease at that point.
