Jersey Post deliveries up on last year

Jersey postal deliveries are slightly up on last year, despite an increase in the price of stamps and a continued decline in volumes of letters posted. The States-owned service posted a £4.2m surplus last year, increasing its turnover by 6.6 per cent to £23.5m. Having delivered 74.9 million items of mail a 7.2 per cent increase on 2000 Jersey Post increased its contribution to the States coffers by 4.2 per cent to £2.1m.
