RH Group takes over from On-Time Logistics
RH Captures New Slice of German Groupage Market
The RH Group is set to become a UK market leader for freight groupage between the UK and Germany.
The company, which has its head office and central cargo hub in Nottingham and operates offices and freight terminals throughout the UK, has just signed partnership agreements with GL Kayser in the Mainz/Frankfurt area of Germany and with Krage Spedition of Hannover.
This brings its number of German partners to eight, and RH confidently expects the number of UK/Germany/UK consignments to rise from 18000 to 40000 per year.
The new partnerships are a direct result of the demise of On-Time Logistics (formerly Thompson Jewitt), another business with its headquarters in Nottingham and a long time competitor of RH. Both Kayser and Krage had been working with On-Time, which went into receivership last week.
In sharp contrast RH is enjoying increasing success will shortly be publishing its best financial results since its inception.
“We have just had our most profitable year and this new business in Germany will help us to increase profits still further in the current year. We are confidently targeting a 30 percent increase in profits this year,” said Group Director Ian Baxter.
“We are now set to become the British market leader in European groupage and the addition of Kayser and Krage gives us one of the strongest and most effective networks in Europe. We will be making be making further announcements about expansion of the network in the near future.”
The partnership with Kayser, the biggest company of its kind in the Frankfurt area will make RH the clear market leader for freight between Frankfurt and the Midlands and North UK. The link with Krage puts RH in a leading position for consolidated cargo to and from Hannover.
RH will operate daily double manned trunkers to and from the Frankfurt area and three departures per week to Hannover to meet demand.
