TDG profit falls by 5%

Challenging market conditions in both the UK and Europe have restricted TDGs results for 2001 despite a good performance in its core contract logistics business.
In the second year of its restructuring programme the companys pre-tax profit fell by 5% to £23.5m. Turnover increased by 16% to £530m. In 2001 it won contracts with Heinz and Brandt, and contract extensions with Diagio and Kimberley-Clark.
