PalletForce Company Profile
With just days to go before its official launch, Britain’s newest pallet network, PalletFORCE, still has a few more investment opportunities on offer.
Chief executive Michael Scarlett is keen to point out that this will not affect the company’s guarantee of 100% coverage from day one.
“Some members will take on larger or additional areas on a temporary basis in the ear ly stages and PaIIetFORCE itself will cover any areas that we haven’t covered at launch date” he says.
PalIetFORCE, which expects to become one of the leading pallet and part load solutions providers in the UK, has followed a similar route to that of Palletline. It is owned and operated by a limited number of specially selected transport companies, known as member depot shareholders.
Scarlett says: “The main difference between us and all the other networks is that we have seen there is a niche in the market to offer a part-load system for larger loads of up to half trailer loads, rather than just concentrate on the smaller
consignments that the others seem to deal with”
Robert Bedford, director of Bedfords Transport is one of more than 40 hauliers to join the PaIIetFORCE network during the six month recruitment period. Commenting on his decision to invest in the scheme he says: T survive these days you need to be very big, operate in a specialist field or be part of a network.”
He is enthusiastic about the future and says: “We are already reaping the benefits of the scheme by generating business with fellow members. You could be in business 20 years and not make contact with as many quality hauliers as we have in the last three months.”
Bedford is convinced that PaIIetFORCE is going to become a market leader and says: “We are already leap-frogging a number of the networks and we haven’t even moved a pallet yet!”
