ShipNEXT launch

ShipNEXT – an independent online platform for the global freight market – has been launched today. The platform has been created by the Ukrainian entrepreneur Alexander Varvarenko, the man behind the Odessa-based shipping company Varamar Group.

In a statement sent to Post&Parcel today (2 October), ShipNEXT said the platform is endorsed by the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO) and the eastern European investment bank Dragon Capitalis participating in the project.

In its first phase being launched today, ShipNEXT’s software will ‘read’ an emailed cargo request or ship position and “automatically match cargos with ships using over 70 various databases and complex algorithms”.

ShipNEXT said that it will gradually roll out more capabilities over the next 18 months.
