Algerie Poste and French La Poste enter partnership

Algerian postal services provider Algerie Poste and French national post office La Poste have signed a partnership agreement for the modernisation of Algerie Poste’s electronic money transfer, it was reported on May 9, 2006. The move is part of Algerie Poste’s new engineering, marketing and commercial strategy and is aimed at improving the relations between the two companies. The partnership with La Poste is expected to enable the Algerian company to widen its portfolio and improve its positions on the postal services market in Africa.

FedEx expands in Middle East

FedEx has introduced a new service to Libya and Algeria through a network of Global Service Participants (GSPs). In Libya Fedes will work with Al Zajel Express as its GSP. Four offices have already been etablished by the GSP in the major Libyan cities to suppot cutomers across the country. In Algeria, FedEx service will be provided by GSP Falcon Express Inc, which already handles delivery services for FedEx in Jordan, Lebanon, Qatar, Syria and Yemen.

Argentina advises algeria on postal privatization

The Algerian government has invited Argentine companies to take part in the North African country’s privatization of public services, the Economy Ministry said. In a communique, the Ministry said Algerian government officials “were especially interested in the Argentine experience of the transfer and concession of public assets and the renegotiation of contracts with public service companies.”
