OCA, an important private Argentine mail company, launched in 2015 the “eLocker OCA” a smart lockers network, developed by Boxeway that offers an innovative solution for the logistics of e-commerce distribution in Argentina. Currently, this organization has twelve operating automated pick up points located in strategic locations – service stations, shopping malls and supermarkets in Buenos Aires – with high traffic and hours of operation extended every day of the week.
Another company that relies on Boxeway technology is AEX in Paraguay. The Paraguayan mail firm includes intelligent boxes to provide improved delivery alternatives to its clients. AEX currently has two smart lockers points and aims to create a network of automatic distribution points located throughout Asunción. “We have partnered with Biggie Express, a chain of convenience stores, with 24-hour service, excellent location and high security. The idea is to place the smart lockers in each Biggie location in order to achieve a high level of coverage,” says Andrés Veirano, Managing Director of AEX.
Ripley is one of the most important regional retailers and after an initial trial period with Boxeway, the Chilean company plans to incorporate 40 smart lockers to be located in its own stores in Chile. The project is based on improving the experience of its online shoppers who can pick up their products automatically in their stores.
